Shibori is one of our favorite design trends. Our living rooms and bedrooms are covered in shibori pillows and throws, and we didn’t want the nursery to be left out.  Shibori is based on an ancient Japanese dyeing technique where textiles are shaped and secured before dyeing.  While, admittedly, we did not use the official Japanese techniques to achieve this print, we were inspired by the Shibori textiles we love and wanted to recreate the look for an organic crib sheet.  The hand-feel on this sheet also happens to be fantastic, a silky soft texture that will get softer with every wash.

Our Shibori organic crib sheet comes packaged in a wooden box made from mango wood, local to India where the packaging is produced. Our packaging makes our crib sheets and baby blankets the perfect baby gift. We recommend that families reuse our box in their pantry, closet, or on their changing table.

Use & Care:

Please wash your sheet before first use. Be sure to use gentle detergents (for the crib sheet and more importantly, for your baby’s skin!), and the color will last longer if you wash with cold water, which is also better for the environment.

This cotton was woven in the regions of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in India. Our factory, a vertical manufacturer, does everything from grow the cotton bolls, to weave the cotton, to print on the fabric, to cut & sew the final product. The owners are committed to producing cotton organically and sustainably, which is why they own the farms in the countryside as well as the factory outside of Delhi. They work to ensure quality as well as transparency across the entire farming and manufacturing process.

The Shibori print was printed using a digital printing machine. All dyes are water based and free of toxins.
